This year I was out of Easter egg dye and the fun packets that come in the package of dye. So while we were in Miles City not long ago I bought some dye as I knew ONE of the favorites would be here for Easter. AND I didn't know if one of the other favorites might not show up too!!!
Friday night after Cari arrived I suggested that we dye eggs. I got the package and lo and behold...
No dye in THAT package! Sometimes I just shake my head and wonder! Ha! But you see my point, there is the Bunny and look at those beautiful eggs in the border! What was I to think!!?!
The next best thing was to make homemade dye with boiling water, vinegar, and food coloring. We got BEAUTIFUL eggs! I had boiled about a dozen for boiling and about a dozen for making deviled eggs for church. Deviled eggs in church, it makes me want to go hmmmm?! But, I came home with an empty container!!
Aren't they pretty? We tried to do a swirl one with olive oil, (it is the shiny one and it doesn't looked swirled!) but only did one... At this age I am not into glitter unless of course I had a grandy ask for it!
Easter Sunday was a glorious morning! Our devotions were special and we celebrated that Christ is Risen! I celebrate that every day, but Easter is a special time to reflect on the tremendous event that changed ALL of our lives...
Happy Easter!
Very pretty eggs. I was so busy I didn't have the kids in my food class color eggs. Too busy. And who doesn't just love deviled eggs?
